Instructor-led discussion / hands-on familiarization for Driver/Operator topics. Officer selects focus. Topics that fit this sheet include: pump theory (centrifugal, positive displacement), pump panel familiarization, engaging the pump (PTO, split-shaft), pumping from tank vs hydrant vs draft, drafting setup and priming, friction loss calculations, nozzle pressures (smooth bore vs combination, fog), elevation gain/loss, hand jack vs gated wye operations, supplying master streams and aerials, foam systems (CAFS, Class A, Class B, eductor), tandem pumping / relay pumping, EVOC (driving — backing, turns, intersections, response), apparatus inspection (NFPA 1911), aerial operations and load chart, and aerial stabilization.
