Instructor-led tabletop discussion of size-up models and tactical decision-making. Officer selects focus. Topics that fit this sheet include: size-up models (COAL WAS WEALTH, WALLACE WAS HOT, BE SAHF, the 13-Point Size-Up), 360° walk-around, building construction recognition (NFPA 220 Type I-V), reading smoke (volume, velocity, density, color), occupancy considerations (residential, commercial, industrial, special), strategic mode (offensive / defensive / transitional / non-attack), tactical priorities (RECEO-VS / LIP / Life-Safety-Incident Stabilization-Property Conservation), risk/benefit analysis, command considerations, and initial radio report format.
