Full-scale hands-on facility training (3-6 hours) covering rescue apparatus driver-operator evolutions. Officer selects evolutions. Possible evolutions include: full apparatus walk-through and inventory, generator and light tower deployment (start, load test, scene lighting setup), hydraulic tool deployment from apparatus (power unit start, cord/hose deployment, multiple tools simultaneously), cribbing / strut / shoring deployment from compartments, air cascade / SCBA fill station operation (safety checks, fill cycle, post-fill inspection), winch operation (deploy line, anchor, snatch block, safe pull), air bag deployment (controller, hose, multi-bag stack), positioning the apparatus at a simulated MVA scene (apparatus as shield, traffic control, scene safety), full apparatus inspection per NFPA 1911, and end-of-evolution reset and re-stow. Each evolution includes pre-brief, full evolution, AAR, and reset. Reference: NFPA 1002, NFPA 1006, NFPA 1670, NFPA 1911. Document evolutions and equipment status.

  1. 1. Deploy assigned rescue system from apparatus within target time.
  2. 2. Demonstrate safe startup, operation, and shutdown of the system.
  3. 3. Position apparatus correctly at scene per department SOG.
  4. 4. Complete inspection and reset of all equipment used.
  5. 5. Conduct AAR and identify improvements.
