Full-scale hands-on facility training (3-6 hours) covering forcible entry evolutions on a prop or acquired structure. Officer selects evolutions for the day. Possible evolutions include: outward-swinging metal door (conventional irons), inward-swinging wood door, thru-the-lock entry with K-tool, padlock removal (cutting with K-12, duck-bill, bolt cutters), gate / chain-link, roll-up door entry, security bars / window bars removal, hinge-side attack, and hydraulic forcible entry tool use. Each evolution includes pre-brief, two-firefighter coordination, full evolution under PPE/air, AAR, and reset (replace shims / re-set prop). Reference: NFPA 1001, IFSTA Essentials. Document doors / locks forced and any tool issues.

  2. 2. Demonstrate proper irons or K-tool technique.
  3. 3. Demonstrate effective two-firefighter coordination.
  4. 4. Maintain door control after entry.
  5. 5. Conduct AAR and identify improvements.
