Full ladder complement (10', 14', 24', 28', 35'), gloves, helmet, full PPE

Full-scale hands-on facility training (3-6 hours) covering ground ladder operations. Officer selects evolutions. Possible evolutions include: one / two / three / four-firefighter carries from apparatus to building, beam and flat raises (one and two-firefighter), 24' / 28' / 35' raises, deploying for rescue (sill height window, balcony), deploying for roof access, climbing with tools and hose, leg-lock and tying-in, ladder bail (one-arm / two-arm), hose advancement up a ladder, and ladder rescue (conscious adult, unconscious adult, infant simulation, large patient — using ladder + harness or webbing). Each evolution includes pre-brief, technique demonstration, evolution under PPE, AAR, and reset. Reference: NFPA 1001, NFPA 1932, IFSTA Essentials. Document ladders deployed and evolutions completed.

  1. 1. Complete each ladder carry and raise per type assigned.
  2. 2. Achieve proper climbing angle and heeling.
  3. 3. Demonstrate ladder bail and rescue evolution.
  4. 4. Demonstrate hose advancement up a ladder.
  5. 5. Conduct AAR and identify improvements.
