Live fire training evolutions at the department training facility conducted to NFPA 1403, the controlling standard — the department live fire SOP defers to it. Covers the written pre-burn plan and the documentation 1403 requires; water supply with two independent sources, duration and reserve; Class A fuel limits; the pre-burn walk-through and two means of egress; every assigned position and its authority, including the Safety Officer's power to halt an evolution regardless of rank; the operational limits on this pad (air readiness, on-air discipline inside, limited student time on the fire floor, safeties rotated between sets); NFPA 1584 medical monitoring before, during and after; stop-work criteria; and the facility walk-out, after-action review and records.

1. State that NFPA 1403 is the controlling standard for live fire training and that the department live fire SOP defers to it.
2. Identify the written documentation NFPA 1403 requires before ignition and confirm it exists for the burn.
3. Identify the two independent water sources in use and explain why two lines off one supply do not qualify.
4. Identify every assigned position and its authority, including the Safety Officer's authority to halt any evolution regardless of rank.
5. State the fuel rules — Class A ordinary combustibles only, no flammable or combustible liquid accelerants.
6. Complete the pre-burn walk-through and demonstrate two means of egress from every area to be occupied.
7. Apply the facility's operational limits for air readiness, on-air discipline, fire-floor time and safety rotation.
8. State the NFPA 1584 medical monitoring requirements and the criteria that hold a member out of an evolution.
9. Identify the conditions that require an evolution to be stopped or not lit.
10. Complete the after-action review and the documentation NFPA 1403 and ISO require.
