Rope rescue gear / shoring / monitors as appropriate to discipline

Full-scale hands-on facility training (3-6 hours) covering one or more technical rescue disciplines at Operations or Technician level. Officer selects discipline. Possible evolutions include: low-angle rope rescue with litter, high-angle rope rescue (lower and raise with mechanical advantage), confined space entry with retrieval / SCBA / monitoring (OSHA 1910.146), trench rescue with shoring panels and struts (OSHA 1926), structural collapse void search and shoring, machinery rescue with lockout/tagout, water rescue (shore-based and boat where capability exists), and ice rescue. Each evolution under realistic conditions with full PPE. Includes pre-brief, system build, full evolution, AAR, and reset. Reference: NFPA 1006, NFPA 1670. Document discipline, evolutions, and qualifications.

  1. 1. Build and inspect the rescue system per evolution.
  2. 2. Complete the rescue evolution within target time.
  3. 3. Demonstrate proper crew positions and communication.
  4. 4. Apply appropriate safety checks (whistle test, edge protection, monitoring).
  5. 5. Conduct AAR and document for credentialing.
