Full-scale hands-on facility training (3-6 hours) covering vehicle extrication evolutions. Officer selects evolutions. Possible evolutions include: scene size-up and stabilization (cribbing, struts, step chocks), glass management (laminated and tempered), door pop (push, pull, doors-off), third-door / B-post evolution, dash displacement / dash roll, roof removal (flap, total, side flap), seat displacement, full deconstruction of vehicle (planned or as-needed), vehicle on-side / on-roof stabilization, hybrid / EV identification and high-voltage cutoff (simulation), heavy vehicle / commercial truck extrication, and patient packaging in vehicle with rapid extrication. Each evolution includes pre-brief, walk-through, full evolution, AAR, and reset / new vehicle. Reference: NFPA 1001, NFPA 1670, NFPA 13E (EV), IFSTA Vehicle Extrication. Document evolutions and any tool issues.

  1. 1. Stabilize the vehicle in the position presented.
  2. 2. Complete the extrication evolution per assignment.
  3. 3. Demonstrate proper tool selection and technique.
  4. 4. Demonstrate patient-centered approach (movement, communication, packaging).
  5. 5. Conduct AAR and identify improvements.
